As with virtually any story with regards to a woman available for purchase, there are some key elements that are left out in the book. You cannot find any description of what was done to her and the name of the ‘bride’ is never shown. When the account gets to Newcastle, there are no details about the man who kidnapped her. There is not any background information on her behalf background. You cannot find any mention of how the lady came to marry or the divorce papers recorded against her.

The book is full of gossip, intrigue and the unexpected. Mary Wilson’s stories are often times shocking. They frequently involve use and exploitation, and some girls have confronted abuse when being forced in to prostitution. The writer does not give a detailed account of what has truly happened, but the reader can be left wondering if this wounderful woman has any knowledge whatsoever. She is aware what comes with happened and just how it happened, employing terms of dealing with the situation and coming up with a solution, it is up to the reader to fill in the blanks.

As the lady moves in one history to the next, the reader gets to understand the world of her character. This is certainly part of the actual this book completely unique.
